Students of both Great Quest and Quest Universal work with meditations based on The Light of the Soul, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali using Raja Yoga meditation, called the “kingly Science of the Soul”. It focuses on the right use of the mind as a method to achieve union of the separated human consciousness with its divine spiritual nature. Yoga, or Union, is achieved by subjugating the lower nature and restraining chitta (mind). Uncontrolled desire and an unregulated mind shut off the light of the soul inhibiting spiritual consciousness.
Our task is to gain control of the psychic nature (the emotional body tinged faintly with mind – kama-manas); and prevent the mind from carrying on its restless chatter and its mindless thoughtform building. Below you will find audio and video recordings for these meditations, which give us the tools we need to cultivate the means to achieve union by overcoming the obstacles and hindrances that prevent us from achieving it.
